A young lady devastated by sadness was speeding to nowhere in her mind. A Patrolman stopped her. He said to her, “You were driving so close to the car in front of you, if they even touched their brake you would have hit them. Where are you headed, so fast?” She answered, “Anywhere but where was I was!”
We can’t run away from a broken heart or a shattered spirit. They are both a part of us and we must carry them wherever we go. True healing comes when we change the direction we are running. We must begin to run toward a Source that can give us new found, powerful, and lasting help. We must run toward becoming a servant of The Lord.
We are promised:
The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit - Psalm 34:18
He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds - Psalm 147:3
Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand - Isaiah 41:10
Your service must be genuine, from the heart, and without seeking self-gratification.
